Building Safety Tips:

If you ever encounter an emergency situation, please remember to use the nearest stairwell to exit the building safely.

If You Hear The Fire Alarm

  • When leaving your unit, feel the door with the back of your hand before opening it. Do not open the door if it feels hot. Close the door behind you when exiting, but do not lock it.
  • Do not return to your unit for personal belongings.
  • If smoke is present, stay low to the ground. The cleanest air is typically about 12 inches above the floor. Do not attempt to run through flames.
  • Do not use elevators during a fire alarm. If you are already in an elevator when the alarm sounds, do not press the emergency stop button.
  • Evacuation Procedures: If a fire alarm or public address (P.A.) announcement instructs evacuation, all occupants must immediately exit the building using the stairwells and proceed to the designated meeting location at the corner of Grand Avenue and 11th Street, approximately 300 feet east of the building.

Assistance During an Evacuation

If you have a temporary or permanent physical condition that may make evacuation difficult, please notify the Management Office. Provide your name and unit number, which will be shared with the Fire Department so assistance can be provided if needed.

If you have any questions about Luma’s emergency procedures or need after-hours contact information, please reach out to the Front Desk team. We are always happy to assist.
