How to Vote for South Park Representatives in the DLANC Election
Voting in the DLANC election is different than voting in other LA elections.
If you need help registering, South Park Neighborhood Association will be hosting registration events this month. Stop by and register onsite – bring documentation as specified below – and enjoy a neighborhood establishment.
Register to Vote: · Registration ends April 14 and must be completed online via the VBM Portal.
Required documentation:
– Proof of ID & Age (e.g., driver’s license)
– Proof of Residence (e.g., lease, renter’s insurance, landlord letter)
In-Person Registration Events:
· March 26, 5-7 PM – Horizon Lounge @ The Gallery on Olive (10% off food & drinks)
· March 29, 3-5 PM – Culturas on Hope @ 11th (discounted food & drinks)
· March 30, 2-4 PM – First Draft Taproom & Kitchen @ Olive & Pico (Happy Hour prices)
How to Vote in April:
· Ballots mailed to registered voters.
· Submit by April 22:
– Mail using the prepaid envelope.
– Drop-off at Central Library (630 W. 5th St.), Mon-Sat: 10 AM-8 PM, Sun: 1-5 PM.
Your South Park representative on the Downtown LA Neighborhood Council (DLANC) serves as your direct link to city government. Nine candidates are running for three seats—your vote matters!

Measles Case Confirmed in Los Angeles County
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has confirmed the first measles case of 2025 in a resident who traveled through LAX. Passengers on China Airlines flight CAL8/CI8 (March 5) will be notified of potential exposure.
Exposure Locations & Times:
- March 5 (7:00–10:40 PM): LAX Tom Bradley Terminal B
- March 7 (11:00 AM–5:00 PM): Cloud 9 Nail Salon, North Hollywood
- March 10 (8:15–10:30 AM): Superior Grocery Store, El Monte
Precautions & Recommendations:
- Verify measles vaccination status (MMR vaccine is 97% effective).
- Monitor for symptoms (fever, cough, rash, red eyes) for up to 21 days.
- Seek medical advice if exposed and unimmunized, especially for pregnant individuals, infants, or those with weakened immune systems.
Measles spreads easily through the air and on surfaces. Vaccination is the best protection. For more information and low-cost vaccine clinics, visit: ph.lacounty.gov/measles
Pet Relief Protocol
We kindly remind all residents to take their dogs to designated areas for relief. Please do not allow pets to urinate on the planters. Designated pet relief areas include the artificial grass on 12th Street and the gravel area near Evo’s back driveway.

Door Access Control
Luma is committed to maintaining a safe and secure community. We have noticed that some fire access doors have been left ajar or propped open, which poses a security risk to the building.
Please remain vigilant and ensure that all doors leading into the building are properly closed. Do not prop doors open, as this can allow unauthorized individuals access to the premises.

Luma Vehicle Parking
Please ensure you park in your designated parking space. If you need to unload your vehicle, do not block the elevator lobby or obstruct any parking spaces. If you must park in an unassigned area, be prepared to move your vehicle immediately. Also, a quick reminder to follow the designated traffic direction in the garage to avoid any traffic collision with any upcoming vehicles.
