Community Updates for 2/21/2025

Posted By on February 21, 2025

Dear Luma Residents,

Crime Prevention Reminders
Community awareness and preventive measures are essential in reducing crime. Here are some important safety tips:

Building, Parking Garage & Perimeter Please remain vigilant and report any unusual activity, suspicions, or security concerns to the front desk at (213) 742-0387. A quick phone call can be instrumental in preventing security risks.

Parking Gates & Garage If you approach the gate and witness a vehicle waiting, DO NOT open the gate unless you can confirm they are a resident. Wait to see if they use a garage remote. If they remain in front of the gate without access, contact the front desk immediately. You may use the alternate entrance or wait for Luma staff to verify the person at the gate. Report any suspicious foot traffic or activity near the parking gates to the front desk. Never leave valuables in your vehicle. However, if you must leave personal items in your vehicle, secure them in the trunk or out of view.   Secure Your Home & Vehicle Keep all doors locked at all times.

Elevators If someone in the elevator is unable to select a floor, do not scan your fob. Instead, direct them to the front desk. This helps prevent unauthorized access and ensures that guests unfamiliar with the building do not become lost.

Report Suspicious Activity Call the front desk for non-emergencies and suspicious activities. Dial 9-1-1 for crimes or emergencies. Use the Police Anonymous Tip Line to report suspected crimes: (800) 222-8477. Contact Social District (formally known as South Park Business Improvement District) at (866) 560-9346 for security, janitorial services, graffiti removal, and homeless issues

Your vigilance helps keep our community safe.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Remember that residents should not rely on the Association to protect them from loss or harm. Residents should take every precaution to secure themselves and their personal belongings. It is important for residents to properly secure personal items, keep doors locked, do not open doors and/or garage entrances for unknown individuals, contact the front desk if an unauthorized individual knocks on your door, and it is important to carry insurance against property loss/theft.
