Enhance Surveillance Research
Posted By flanglois on January 5, 2023
Dear Luma Residents,
In response to the recent increase in criminal activities, the Board is actively researching enhancements to Luma surveillance system. The measures being considered are to increase visibility in the parking garages, have better quality video, and escalate access on the 1st floor elevator vestibule doors to inhibit intruders from entering the building through the garage. Specific surveillance system enhancements under consideration are:
- Enhance existing cameras by eliminating the older style cameras and repositioning others for better coverage, particularly on the 1st floor garage
- Add cameras to each parking level to cover as many vehicles and storage units as possible
- Install web-based recording system for all cameras
- Install Wifi for the garage so that vehicles with onboard cameras and alerts are activated
- Enhance the 1st floor elevator vestibule doors with magnetic locks, intercom and a camera system. Magnetic locks to be tied into the fire control panel so they are automatically unlocked during an event triggered by the panel.
- Elleven Management is working with their gate vendor to explore increasing the closure times for the exit gates
- Continue to partner with Elleven and Guard-Systems Inc. emphasizing our limited resources in the garage
If any residents have experience in access control systems, security cameras, and fire doors and are available to volunteer to help with this important project, please reach out to Francis Langlois at flanglois@actionlife.com or Taylor Jones at tjones@actionlife.com.
