Locking the Front Door – Extended Test

Dear Homeowners,

The Board has decided to move forward with an extended test period locking the front doors 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The test will be in effect for the period of March 18th to July 19th.

During this test period we will be conducting a survey asking for your opinion as to whether or not you prefer to see the doors locked 24/7, or if you would like to see the doors locked for the period of 8pm to 7am daily.

Please note that this is ONLY an extended test period and does not yet represent a final decision or commitment to maintain doors locked on a permanent basis. Depending on the feedback from the community of any unforeseen impacts, the trial period may be terminated early with minimal but reasonable notice. However, the change may be made permanent at the end of the trial period if the community and the Board find it has been beneficial.

We had little feedback from the community during the last test and thus hope for stronger feedback over a longer period of time. Please take a moment out of your day to complete this survey.

MyFigueroa Construction Project Update

From MyFig Construction –

MyFig Improvements are Underway on 11th Street

If you live or work in the MyFigueroa area, you’ve likely noticed that construction is well underway on 11th Street. 11th Street is closed to one lane from Los Angeles Street to Figueroa, to allow for construction in the roadway and on the northern sidewalk. Please bear with us while we work to make 11th Street better for everyone walking, biking, and driving there!

Improvements coming soon to 11th Street include:

•Wider, pedestrian-friendly sidewalks

•A bike lane connecting to protected bike lanes on Figueroa

•New curbs and better drainage

•Improved traffic signals

•Refurbished street lighting

MyFig Construction Starting Soon on Figueroa

Construction will also begin on Figueroa itself very soon. LADOT and the contractors are still finalizing traffic control plans, to ensure traffic can continue to flow as smoothly as possible during the construction of the new bus platforms.

The first phase will start this month in front of USC, between Exposition and 23rd Street – the removal of two median islands, followed by the installation of bus platform islands on Figueroa.

Policy Reminder

Dear Residents,

Several residents on the 12 and 14 stacks have reported finding cigarette butts and matches on their balconies as a result of someone either dropping them from above, or by someone leaving a filled ashtray on their balcony or next to an open window.

Lightweight items such as ashtray contents, cans, beer bottles, drinking glasses, articles of clothing, and even surfboards can be picked up by the wind and end up on the ground or on someone else’s terrace or balcony or worse, could hit someone or damage their property. The wind is ever present here and you are responsible and liable for items you leave in its path so please keep this in mind.

THROWING OR DROPPING ANYTHING FROM YOUR BALCONY or WINDOW IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AND IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. The HOA will prosecute any violation of this to the full extent of the law. Thank you for your cooperation.
