MyFig Project Update

Posted By on December 26, 2017

Dear Luma Residents,

Here’s an update on the MyFig project:

All – construction details for next week’s work below. I want to say thank you for how exceptionally cooperative and patient everyone has been with MyFIG’s work in 2017. I hope it has been beneficial for SPBID to provide these updates in an effort to enhance logistic and communication efforts. Happy holidays!

NO WORK – WEEKENDS & HOLIDAY DATES
12/23-12/24
12/25 (Christmas Day)
12/30-12/31
1/1 (New Year’s Day)

12/26 – TUESDAY
11th St., between Broadway and Flower, will experience rolling closures. These closures are estimated to be 30-minutes max.

LADWP needs to saw cut across 11th St. This work is similar to the types of closures you experienced 2-weeks back, but for much shorter timeframes.

During these closures, local access is permitted. Flaggers will be following DWP, working east to west on 11th, to provide local access to garages and assist with egress traffic leaving buildings. Due to 11th St. being a one-way westbound street, flaggers can assist cars to drive eastbound on 11th to exit the block. Yes, you can drive the wrong way on 11th, with flagger help.

12/27-12/29, WED-FRI
11th St., between Broadway and Flower, will experience ½ day full bock closures. These estimated timeframes of these closures are 8AM-12PM and 12PM-4PM. Next Tuesday, I should have more clear details on which block is effected when and will share that with all of you.

Following Tuesday’s work, LADWP will be installing new valves and tapping back into their water mains. LADWP and MyFIG have confirmed there will be no interruption to the water service for individual buildings during this work. If any unforeseen issues arise, I will e-blast them out as soon as I’m made aware.

Local access is permitted during these closures. Flaggers will follow the same protocol from Tuesday’s (12/26) work to provide ingress/egress access to garages and buildings.

OVERALL PROGRESS UPDATES ON MYFIG
North-side work on 11th St. is anticipated to be completed by end of January-2018.
For work on north/south streets, between Broadway and Flower, there is potential for limited lane closures. You may have experienced this type of lane closure this week at Grand/11th and Hope/11th.
MyFIG submitted and was approved for a peak-hour construction exemption. This means construction times moving forward will be 8AM – 5PM. This exemption was approved in order to expedite the remaining 11th St. work.

For any of your employees, residents, patrons, or vendors with deliveries, please let them know how any of the above-mentioned work may impact them. Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll do my best to get you answers as soon as possible.
